Personal Background: Thao Tran O.D.

Dr. Tran received a B.A. degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers University in New Jersey.  She worked as Pharmaceutical Research Associate for Schering-Plough Laboratory in Union, NJ and Roche Bioscience in Palo Alto, CA for 8 years.  She moved to California to attend optometry school and earned her doctor of optometry degree from UC Berkeley School of Optometry.

Dr. Tran has been working as an optometrist for Sterling Visioncare in Mountain View, CA since her graduation from optometry school. Her specialty interests include primary eye care, contact lenses, and low vision.  She is board certified and licensed to diagnose and treat diseases of the eyes in the state of CA.

Dr. Tran is a member of the Better Business Bureau and the Access Program, sponsored by the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, to provide eye exams and glasses to the needy in the community. She speaks Vietnamese fluently and clinical Spanish.

Dr. Tran has volunteered time and services to provide vision care to patients in the third-world countries via the VOSH (Voluntary Optometric Services to Humanity) program. She enjoys traveling, computer, and continuing education.
